Windows XP Instructions forMaking a Desktop 
Shortcut to your dialup connection
Please read the following documentation carefully and completely!

1. Click the Start button in the lower lefthand corner of your screen.
2. Click on "Connect To"
3. Right click on your default dialup connection icon. It may be called RiverNet, or if you used our script to create a new dialup connection, it will be called Rivnet.net, or it may have your username and your county on it.  For example "topcat’s lancaster account".  It should be marked as your default connection.
4. Click (left click) on Create Shortcut.  If prompted with message "Cannot create shortcut here. Do you want to place the shortcut on your desktop instead" click Yes.
5. Close all windows to get back to your desktop and you should see a shortcut to your RiverNet dialer.

Windows 95 & 98 Instructions forMaking a Desktop

1. From your desktop, double click "My Computer"
2. Double click "Dial-Up Networking"
3. Right click on your default dialup connection icon. It may be called RiverNet, or if you used our script to create a new dialup connection, it will be called Rivnet.net, or it may have your username and your county on it.  For example "topcat’s lancaster account".  It should be marked as your default connection.
4. Click (left click) on Create Shortcut.  If prompted with message "Cannot create shortcut here. Do you want to place the shortcut on your desktop instead" click Yes.  If you have the option "Send to desktop - create shortcut", select that option.
5. Close all windows to get back to your desktop and you should see a shortcut to your RiverNet dialer.
